Building the Next Chapter of AI Emotional Intelligence = Together
There are moments in technology where you can feel the ground shifting.
Dave and I have spent years watching technology evolve. We have watched websites become living business tools. We have watched automation move from something only large organizations could afford into something local businesses, clinics, and community organizations can actually use. We have watched AI move from a distant idea into something people now speak with, work beside, and co-create with every day.
And honestly, we are in awe of it.
Technology Is Learning From People
Not because technology is replacing people.
Because, at its best, technology is finally asking to learn from people.
We are entering an era of co-creation, one where real human voices, real emotion, real pauses, real warmth, and real lived experience can help shape the systems that will soon be speaking with us in our homes, workplaces, clinics, and communities.
That is fundamentally life changing.
It is also a responsibility.
Why Hearth Talk Matters
This is why we are so inspired by the work being done through Liva AI and a project called Hearth Talk.
Liva AI is working on human expression data for next-generation voice AI, with a mission to help voice AI feel more human. Hearth Talk brings that idea into real community spaces by inviting people to sit together for honest, one-hour conversations that help future AI learn warmth, tone, listening, and emotional nuance.
The idea is simple, but powerful.
Real Conversations Shape Better AI
Two people sit down.
They talk.
They listen.
They show up as themselves.
It is not therapy.
It is not performance.
It is not about saying the perfect thing.
It is about real human exchange.
And that matters because the future of AI emotional intelligence cannot be built only from scripts, synthetic examples, or polished corporate language.
If AI is going to support people in meaningful ways, it has to learn from the way people actually speak to each other—with care, hesitation, humour, grief, curiosity, silence, and connection.
So far, Hearth Talk has been very successful as a training tool for real community conversations. People are showing up. They are participating. They are helping shape something that could make future AI feel less cold, less mechanical, and more capable of meeting people with warmth.
Built With Community, Not Just For Community
Dave and I are proud to donate our time to this work because it aligns with everything we believe technology should become.
- Useful.
- Human-centred.
- Emotionally aware.
- Built with community, not just for community.
We believe this is one of the most inspired eras technology has ever entered.
Not because AI is becoming more impressive.
Because people are being invited into the process of shaping it.
That is the part that moves us most.
The Future Belongs to Everyone
The next chapter of AI will not only be written by engineers, founders, researchers, or companies.
It will also be shaped by everyday people willing to sit across from another person and have a real conversation.
If AI is going to become more emotionally intelligent, it must learn from the people it is ultimately meant to serve.
And that means every honest conversation matters.
How To Get Involved
If you are interested in being part of building the next chapter of AI emotional intelligence, we would love to hear from you.
Hearth Talk is currently welcoming adults 18+ for approximately one-hour in-person conversation sessions in Ajax, Ontario.
No preparation is needed.
Just a willingness to show up, talk honestly, listen openly, and help shape kinder AI.
Please contact us directly if you are interested in participating or learning more.
Because the Future Should Remember How to Listen
Because the future of AI should not just be intelligent.
It should remember how to listen.
